Büyükçekmece is located on the European side of Istanbul, and coasts on the Marmara Sea. It is one of Istanbul’s major Industrial areas, while also being one of the most beautiful residential areas as well.

Büyükçekmece was once a rural town of 13,000 residents, with small villages like cottages, with many farmlands and a seashore.
